As I prepare to leave for Ramallah next month, I am beginning to appreciate with more poignancy all the things around me, knowing that in a short time, the life as I now know it will be altered: treasured friends and family, familiar surroundings and food (and for those who know me too well, iced cappuccinos), the beloved Sisters of St. John the Divine, the Sinking Ship crew and the list goes on…
While I still feel slightly apprehensive about the change that lies ahead, I have a deep sense of the love and support that surrounds me as I venture off into a new land. Chances are that if you are reading this blog, you are one of those individuals. So this entry is for all my readers – to thank you for making my life richer. I hope my blog will be a gift of encountering the life and people of the West Bank in a new and beautiful way.
