There have been several days of demonstrations in Ramallah against the high cost of living. And they have every right to be angry. Many things cost the same or even more than in Canada. To add to that, government employees have not been paid their full wages in months. The discontent resulted in a general public strike today, which halted public transport and caused chaos on the streets. There were talks about closing the school, but in the end, it was open with only a few less students and teachers. The House Mother, who supervises the after-school program, was not able to travel from her hometown near Bethlehem, so I agreed to help out for a few hours with the after-school program. I got to meet some new students, like four-year old Dalhia, and captured some fun photos of the kids doing what they do best...playing.

For a person who wasn't sure about teaching young children, you seem to have a real rapport with the kids!
